On November 11th, 2021, Veteran's Day in the United States and Remembrance Day in Canada, the Women's Leadership group I co-founded with 7 other outstanding women leaders, WeWomenLead, held our first public web event on Zoom, highlighting the multi-national work of Team Rubicon.
Team Rubicon is an organization that was founded in 2010 by 2 Marine Veterans, Jake Wood and Willian McNulty, when their intuition told them to act fast to go help Haitians in grave need after the 7.0 earthquake struck. Since then, almost 100,000 Veterans have been deployed to help with boots on the ground in local and global natural disasters and humanitarian aid missions.
Here's an opportunity to listen to the playback of the web event featuring Ana Luna, Head of Institutional Giving for Team Rubicon, and Larysa Murray, Marine Corps Veteran and Head of Northwestern Operations for Team Rubicon.
In this session, Ana and Larysa will paint a picture of what it's like being deployed to aid in disasters facing so many of our communities. They share about why we don't always know about the disasters happening and who is impacted. And they give a fascinating look at how Team Rubicon prioritizes where they deploy to help - and I have to underscore - this is fascinating.
If at the end of the session you feel inclined to see how you can get involved or donate to support the efforts of Team Rubicon, start HERE.
